Review: Chumbawamba's "Un"
by Bill Stella

Artist: Chumbawamba
Album: Un
Label: Koch Records

All those who only know Tubthumping: "I get knocked down, but I get up again!... He drinks the whiskey drink.", etc. owe yourself to investigate this superior, clearly overlooked album, "Un". The band has developed their characteristic sound into something that treats serious topics with a light touch (a very good thing to do). "Everything You Know Is Wrong", "The Wizard of Menlo Park" and other tracks add to the cultural discussion of topics buzzing in the news and in modern life. And they use sound clips, "actualities," to great effect. It's fun and serious at the same time, and appeals to the revolutionary in me that will only join the revolution if I can dance to it.

[Note: They weren't fast enough to get the obvious website URL, so you'll have to settle for finding their official site at www.chumba.com. -Ed.]
