A Revivalist Tale Of Excess:
Though this is the third Ticker in a row to mention Morrissey (and please let's not go on about that Reagan/Bush II remark) it's not specifically about him, save only for a mention of his rampant fanboyishness when the mood strikes him. No, this is all about the object of that fanboy exertion: The New York Dolls, who'll be reuniting for a series of performances at a Moz-curated show. David Johansen is interviewed in the above Times Of London link, and while a life of excess may be taking its toll, his matter-of-fact recollections about past excesses are refreshing in these repressed times. (Besides, while I've not tried it myself, I have seen it happen with my own eyes, so I know that what Johansen says rings true: boys who wear makeup do get so laid ...)

Sheesh, Just When You Get Comfortable...:
...here's your first column about how the term "Indie" sucks the life out of good ol' rock 'n' roll. But then how would you explain The 7-10 Splits and their magnum opus, I Love Your Mom?
