ALTROK Ordinals 50

Alexi Murdoch - Four Songs (Mindblue)

Jeff says:
Alexi joins the current slew of brilliant, new, male singer/songwriters (Josh Ritter, Mark Geary, Damien Rice, Mundy, Teitur, Steven Delopoulos, etc) that have thankfully been emerging lately. With only a self-released four song EP, appropriately called "Four Songs," Alexi has already built up quite an audience eagerly awaiting his debut full length CD. Which, by the way, he's hoping to have out before the end of the year. That should wrap up what's been a whirlwind 2003 for the young Scotsman (transplanted to LA). Alexi's EP recalls the likes of Nick Drake, John Martyn, Harry Chapin and other classic folk/acoustic songwriters. The best place to get a copy is to go to his website at www.aleximurdoch.com and order it there. Do not go to amazon.com and think that "Alex Murdoch" is the right record...it's not. You can see the magic for yourself on Monday July 28 when 90.5 The NIGHT presents ALEXI MURDOCH (with the Josh Zandman Trio and April) at the Asbury Cafe @ The Saint in Asbury Park.
