Edit! Edit, I Say!
by Your Diva, Robin Pastorio-Newman

Your Darling, Your Diva, Your One True Love sits down to write these columns on Mondays, edits on Tuesdays and on Wednesdays says, "I just know I deleted that." As with any refined process, little things can screw up the whole shebang. A missed phone call here, a quart of sour milk there, and suddenly a careful plan whooshes down the drain. In this case, Your Zesty Salsa spent four days in bed with an ill-timed flu. This makes writing about music tricky. Music? What music? Other than the tinnitus?

Of course when you're lying on the divan sipping tea, the ailing diva might take in some television. VH1's 100 Moments That Rocked TV offers as history glimpses into the past that may or may not be relevant to anything, like Cher's appearance on Will & Grace. Few sights make a gal re-read the ingredients on the NyQuil bottle like seeing Cher as a blonde. Another vision we should attribute to fever: a concert in honor of 2002 Nobel Peace Prize recipient Jimmy Carter. Jimmy and Rosalyn smiled patiently, but it was obvious they wondered what they were doing there, what did this have to do with any peace process, and who was this Michelle Branch person? Your Spicy Marinara was quite ill, and hallucinations can scare a gal right back to health. Whew! Suddenly, the idea of flu shots seems less traumatic than, say, the Doobie Brothers on What's Happening!!

Dahhhhhhhhhling, let's be honest. Your Onion Dip has nothing of interest to say about music this week. Now that wasn't so difficult, was it? If only that'd been a back up plan.
