ALTROK Hunts And Points Again
by Sean Carolan

Money makes the world go 'round, and it makes strange bedfellows when it's aligned in the proper way. Like, say, Altrok and FoxNews...here's why.

Point 1: Evil News Organizations Occasionally Get It Right

But perhaps for the wrong reasons. Ken Layne has a rather lucid, if somewhat breathless, rant at FoxNews's website. I agree with every point he makes, and hope the various anti-record-industry benefits he mentions did well last night. The numbers he quotes at the end of the piece are a good indicator of where this whole argument may be going - music may want to be free, but you've still got to buy something to play it on, and with Sony making ten times more on the players than on the music itself, it'll be interesting to see where the numbers lead.

As I said, taking the entire rant at face value, I have to commend it; at the same time, in this world of corporations owned by larger corporations, I have to wonder just how much the rant furthers News Corporation's plans for world domination. Fox never could run a decent record label...

Point 2: Speaking of Benefits...

You've heard about Bill Benfer here before: well-loved, caring, giving, and unfortunately, very, very ill.

Scott Stamper, a pretty great guy in his own right, has set up an additional benefit for Dollar Bill. If you're in the Central NJ area (or can get there) here's the info:
