ALTROK Ordinals 29

Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions - Bavarian Fruit Bread (Rough Trade/Sanctuary)
Jeff says: Hope used to be the vocalist for Mazzy Star (you remember "Fade Into You", right?) This is her debut solo record. Not surprisingly it's very moody, subdued, and emotional.

Val Emmich - The Fifteen Minute Relationship (Artist Amp/Childlike)
Jeff says: First of all, "Val" is a guy!! He used to use his middle name Matt when he fronted local bands Ben Trovato and Awake Asleep, but has decided to go back to his real first name for the solo record. The Rutgers graduate and Manalapan native has also been tearin' up the small-screen with appearances in commercials for Burger King, Canon digital cam, Sony mp3 player, and an episode of Third Watch.

(This week's Ordinals courtesy Jeff Raspe, who's been on a bit of a Python tear lately...)
