ALTROK Ordinals 28

The Dismemberment Plan - Change (De Soto)
Sean says: This album is what happens when emo takes a break from a seven-day-a-week clubbing regimen, takes a good hard look in the mirror, and gets to thinking. Musically and vibe-wise, it's solid from top to bottom, and plays well on heavy personal rotation. I note chord progressions that'd make Andy Partridge cock his head to the side and say "hmm".

Toshack Highway - Everyday, Rock N Roll Is Saving My Life (Space Baby)
Jeff says: Former Swervedriver frontman Adam Franklin's solo project. Swervedriver were a 90's English band that incorporated the swirling textures of the shoegazer aesthetic with the more traditional boundaries of pop.

Natalie Merchant - Motherland (Elektra)
Jeff says: Former frontwoman for 10,000 Maniacs is back with a new solo record. Produced by T-Bone Burnett (husband of Sam Phillips) and features Graham Maby (Joe Jackson's bassist) and New Jersey's own Erik Della Penna on guitar.
