ALTROK Ordinals 27

Bruce Cockburn - "My Beat" (Rounder)
Jeff says: Bruce has released a new "best of" called Anything Anytime Anywhere (Singles 1979-2002). "My Beat" is a new song from that collection that features Patty Griffin singing backing vocals. Also in 2002, Rounder Records will remaster and re-release most of Bruce's back catalog.

Keith John Adams - Memory/Worry 7" Single (Flitwick)
Sean says: Y'see, now, this is insidious, making me break out the old phonograph to play this single, because that means I actually had to expend energy to hear these songs which I now cannot, for the life of me, get out of my head. Kept putting me in the same state of mind Julian Cope tends to put me in, which isn't a bad thing at all. If Flitwick keeps this up, they may one day actually sell a record or two.

Chris Knight - A Pretty Good Guy (Dualtone)
Jeff says: Not to be confused with Christopher Knight ... the kid who played Peter Brady on the Brady Bunch. Singer/songwriter from Slaughters, Kentucky. Often compared to Steve Earle and John Prine.

(This week's Ordinals courtesy Jeff Raspe and Sean Carolan, who will, did I mention, be at that benefit Friday night? A certain defunct radio station's banner has been procured for the event...)
