ALTROK Ordinals 25

Various Artists - Tribute To Big Star (additional songs by Chris Bell) (LunaSea)
Jeff says: BIG STAR, one of the most overlooked bands of their time, have become one of the most often cited bands when current bands are asked who they grew up listening to. Just ask REM, The Posies, Cheap Trick and Teenage Fanclub. One of the quintessential American power-pop bands of the 70s. This Memphis band included the legendary Alex Chilton and Jim Dickinson (father of 2/3 of the North Mississippi All Stars) and the late Chris Bell. Most of the songs are on the tribute are from Big Star records, but a couple of the contributors chose to do songs from Chris’ posthumous solo album.

David Broza - Spanish Heart (Salad [import])
Jeff says: Born in Israel, raised in England and Spain, lives in north Jersey (less than 5 minutes from my house). He’s the "Bruce Springsteen" of Israel. Recorded his first album in 1978 at the age of 21!
