ALTROK Ordinals 21

Alright...here ya go ya Halloweenies...

The Cure - Greatest Hits (fiction/Elektra)
I know what you're saying..."Don't The Cure already have 2 greatest hits records?" Well, technically, no. "Staring At The Sea" and "Galore" were singles collections...all of the singles. This is a greatest hits collection as chosen by Mr Robert Smith himself. Not only will you find most of your Cure faves like "Boys Don't Cry", "Let's Go To Bed", "The Lovecats", Inbetween Days", "Just Like Heaven", "Lovesong", and "Friday I'm In Love" (among others) you'll find 2 (count 'em 2!) brandy dandy new songs as well...the brilliant "Cut Here" and the duet "Just Say Yes" (featuring Saffron formerly of Republica). But, should you pick up this greatest hits in it's first pressing you'll get something extremely special. Knowing that most "real" Cure fans would already have all of these tracks (less the 2 new ones) the band went into a studio and re-recorded all of the songs selected for the greatest hits (that's 18 songs if you're keeping track) acoustic! They even invited the best drummer they ever had back for the session to play percussion...that would be Boris Williams. Granted, not all of the songs work this way, but it's still really cool to hear them like this.
