ALTROK Ordinals 9

Two new live discs from alterna-legends who've seemingly been forgotten by the radio format they used to call home.

Ned's Atomic Dustbin - Live From Dudley Castle; July 28, 2000 - Gig Records
Jeff says:You remember Ned's, right? Of course you do...you're the only ones who do. Anyway, 5 years after breaking up (on stage...how rock and roll) the lads got back together last summer for a reunion gig at a castle in sunny England. The wise folks at Gig Records here in NJ decided to record the event for posterity. I guess part of the story goes that the band felt somewhat bad about breaking up before playing a "farewell" show for the old friends. There are the faves like "Grey Cell Green", "Kill Your Television", and "Happy" of course included here.

PETER MURPHY - Live: Just For Love - Metropolis Records
Jeff says: Former (current?) Bauhaus frontman toured briefly last fall as an acoustic act backed by guitarist Peter DiStefano and violinist Hugh Marsh. Metropolis Records (of Philadelphia) has a 2 disc (well, 1 and a half really) set of a November show at LA's El Rey Theater. They didn't even edit anything...the pauses between songs, the banter, everything is exactly as it was that autumn night in LA. Disc 2 features the appearance of David J, also of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets. Many of Peter's solo favorites are here including "All Night Long", "Indigo Eyes", and "Cuts You Up". Disc 2 includes 3 Bauhaus songs and "Love Me Tender".

On the horizon: Why is Miles Hunt spending so much time in New Jersey? And why is Billy Corgan spending so much time in New Order (whose album's poised for release any day now...)
