ALTROK Ordinals 2

Song that will make you think "I know I haven't heard this before, but I want to hear it again, so I can say I've heard it before":

Pete Yorn - "Hanging On A Chain"

Some artists and records that are air-worthy, if programmers would bother to listen to them:

Glenn Tilbrook (of Squeeze) - The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook
Luka Bloom - Keeper Of The Flame
(covers album)
Various - Substitute: Tribute To The Who
(w/ Stereophonics, Cast, Ocean Coloour Scene, Paul Weller, Pearl Jam, Phish, etc)
Placebo - Black Market Music
(finally out in the US!!)
Heidi Barry - Pomegranate: An Anthology
Stevie Nicks - Trouble in Shangri-La
(Billy Corgan knows she's a good songwriter, and the best songs on the record aren't getting any airplay.)
Anderson Council - Coloursound
Waterboys - A Rock In The Weary Land
Kings Of Convenience - Quiet Is The New Loud

Song that will make you say "What was he thinking?!? And how can I start thinking that way?!?":

Raymond Scott, "Cindy Electronium" (Released 1959)
Scott, the man who wrote much of the music repurposed by Carl Stalling on the soundtracks for classic Warner Bros. cartoons, used repetitive electronic motifs on this song forty years before the style came into vogue as electronica. Plus, the song's title is a band name waiting to happen.
